This term in Creative Industries, we have been using Flash to make animations and Photoshop to animate as well. I enjoyed Flash much more than Photoshop Animation because there is just so much more that we can do.
As with last term, the whole unit would have been more enjoyable if people took the class seriously, instead of treating it as a bludge subject. I think Miss Makin may need to take control more. ;)
I love how easy it is to use Flash and how much fun it is as a program. Some people thought it was hard, but I think it was multitudes easier than trying to use Final Cut.

What is animation?
Wikipedia style: Animation is the rapid display of a sequence of images of 2-D or 3-D artwork or model positions in order to create an illusion of movement. It is an optical illusion of motion due to the phenomenon of persistence of vision, and can be created and demonstrated in a number of ways.
Dictionary.com style: the condition of living or the state of being alive; "while there's life there's hope"; "life depends on many chemical and physical processes"
Using my brilliant powers of deduction, I could assume that animation is the illusion of the state of living!
I could also deduce that the internet is a wondrously complex environment.
i found this ^ rather funny.

USING FLASH
So, after getting pictures into GIFS (rather time consuming...) I find flash pretty simple once I get the hang of it...
Here's my first little animation... "Meeting Creatures", which kind of IS an exquisite corpse, except that the body parts were all edited so they looked similar. I'm not sure if this film will work.
kthxbi ms makin (:

My Animation
After losing my previous animation, I have tried several times to recreate my animation, but everytime I do I honestly just want to cry. The amount of work I put into that... it's ridiculous.
It's very difficult too, without all the layers. If I had the layers, I would be able to recreate something similar, but there are so many, and in my animation I had a lot of the top layers hidden.
I know your suggest Ms Makin was just to do something similar to what Christie did - just make the hair grow or something - but in my eyes that would be failing. It would not be a piece of work to be proud of. I don't really see the point of just making something move. I specifically placed my piece within a social context to make a statement specifically related to that. My animation followed a similar metamorphosing concept, and if and when I attempt another animation on any avatar (since now I'll have to make a whole new one) I refuse to simply manoeuvre some pictures and add some tweens, because that shows no higher order thinking and, well, what's the point?

Turbomilk
Turbomilk is involved in creating interfaces and designing icons.
The people who work there are most likely web and graphic designers, illustrators, and the Smarty Pants could well be a receptionist because she's thinking about telephones.
The All American is interested in alcohol, the School Boy is interested in money, the Good Girl is not interested in anything, the Plain Jane is interested in rainbows, the Simple Guy thinks about milk, the Skater is interested in ... well ... penis, and the Smarty Pants is interested in telecommunication.
This office may not be functioning well because none of them are thinking about work. Unless, of course, their job is to get drunk or look at rainbows.
I have written a Memo to the Good Girl firing her from the business because she thinks about nothing and is wasting my time
